Cody Ross connected with a 'big fly' and had 2 RBI as the Nimrod Numnuts
defeated the dreadful Chainsaw Proctologists by a score of 4 to 3 at
Stigman's Mound.
In the 4th inning Nimrod scored 3 runs when they had 3 base hits. The
highlight belonged to Ross who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he
popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 1st of the season). Chainsaw
threatened in the 9th but Nimrod was able to put down the rally.
The victory went to Ubaldo Jimenez(6-5) who went 5 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Jimenez got help from Matt Capps who earned his 18th save. Vicente
Padilla(2-10) suffered the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 7 hits in 6
innings.
Rick Graves was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the press
box know why we lost this game. We made too many mistakes.'
